(Geneva, July 29, 2025) — The United Nations Office at Geneva has welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand in a message posted on its official Facebook page, calling it a positive step toward ending hostilities and easing border tensions.
In the post, the UN Geneva office urged both countries to fully respect the agreement and to foster an environment conducive to resolving long-standing issues through peaceful means and dialogue.
The message also praised the role of Malaysia, the current ASEAN Chair, along with the United States and China, for their efforts in supporting a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
“The United Nations stands ready to support efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region,” the post concluded.
